Dez Bryant is inching closer toward a return to an NFL roster.
According to NFL Network, the former Cowboys wide receiver left his Tuesday workout with New Orleans without a new contract but is in negotiations with the club on a deal.
Should the deal materialize, Bryant would be joining the Saints just in time for their Nov. 29 visit to AT&T Stadium to take on the Cowboys, when Gil Brandt will be inducted into the club’s Ring of Honor.

Not long after his 30th birthday, former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant may have another NFL opportunity on the horizon.
According to a report Monday night from NFL Network’s Jane Slater, Bryant and two other receivers will work out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.
ESPN reports that he will be auditioning alongside veteran receivers Brandon Marshall and Kamar Aiken.
Since being released by the Cowboys, Bryant has been without an NFL team. According to Doomsday Podcast co-host Ed Werder, Bryant was offered a multi-year deal by the Ravens, but he’s looking for a one-year deal.
