NBC Airs Re-Run of ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ and Cancels Live Shows for the Rest of the Week Over Blackface Scandal, After House of Cards Cast Pulled Their Appearance – and Speculation Mounts That the $69m Host’s Show Will Be Axed

NBC has made it very clear how angry they are with Today host Megyn Kelly after airing a rerun in her time slot on Thursday.

Kelly did not show up to work Thursday and will not be back on Friday either, with NBC announcing that her show will air re-runs for the rest of the week.

That decision came after the cast of House of Cards pulled out of an appearance scheduled for next week.

The network may no secret of it either, airing an episode from August 31 on Thursday in which Kelly’s first words were ‘Happy Friday.’

‘Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week,’ said an NBC spokesperson.

That is not the only sign of bad blood either, with Kelly hiring a high-profile attorney on Wednesday as she prepares for possible battle with the network.

At stake is her $69 million contract, which she is entitled to receive all of even if she is fired before the three years she signed for are up a source tells DailyMail.com.

That is unless she violates a morality clause, and her comments on blackface Tuesday may have done just that – and cost her tens of millions of dollars.

Kelly is also currently without an agent, having been dropped by CAA on Wednesday.
