A woman has revealed how she called off her wedding just a week before the big day after discovering that her fiance watched porn.
Claire Dalton, 21, from Utah described how she ended her four-year relationship a year ago after discovering ‘sick and twisted’ porn on her partner’s phone.
The former bride-to-be, who describes herself as ‘deeply religious’, claims that she wanted a relationship ‘governed by God’s law’ in a blog post on Love What Matters.
Claire, who also runs her own blog, describes how just seven days before she was set to say ‘I do’ she found the unsavoury images on her boyfriend’s phone.
She says that she had ‘instinctively’ reached for his mobile to check when a local shop shut when she saw three words in his search bar that changed ‘her entire view.’
Writing on the blog she said: ‘I exited out of that window on his phone, only to find multiple windows open of sick and twisted ideas of what women supposedly look like. I felt sick to my stomach.’
After Claire confronted her fiance he attempted to blame his brother claiming that he had a ‘problem’ and must have been using his phone.
Claire describes how they talked for hours before her partner finally admitted to watching porn and what Claire constitutes as a pornography addiction.
She continued: ‘I firmly called my wedding off as I sat across from the man I loved who suddenly seemed to be a stranger.’

Claire’s story was shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page which boasts almost eight million followers.
And while she describes herself as a victim many of the groups members felt she had ‘overreacted’.
Commenting in the group one wrote: ‘He saw porn. She cancelled their wedding. One of those is a massive overreaction. Hint: not his.’
Another added: ‘I was confused about all the ‘porn watching’. She never said it was an all the time thing.

‘Why does watching porn once twice or even three times make you an addict? I had a glass of wine with dinner tonight, that doesn’t make me an alcoholic!’
Others were concerned for her ex, pointing out that putting her name to the story meant that many would be aware of why they broke up.
‘I have no issue with the fact that she cancelled the wedding. If it was a deal breaker, then she did the right thing’ one wrote adding ‘But outing him was a sh***y thing to do! He didn’t break any laws.’
Mirroring her thoughts another added: ‘If she truly thinks pornography is so bad then she’s a pretty horrible person for putting her name and face out there to this story thus letting anyone who knew who she was engaged to know his personal life.’
However, many agreed that Claire had made the best decision for herself.
One wrote: ‘Bottom line here. If she disagrees with this then she made the right decision. No one else’s opinions matter.’
Agreeing another said: ‘So many people are judging her. But no matter whether it’s a big deal to you, it was a big deal to her.’
