A man was killed early Saturday by gunmen who were trying to rob his teenage neighbor, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 16-year-old boy was being robbed at gunpoint by two men around midnight at his home on West Hardy near Ranch View when the victim – who was the boy’s neighbor – tried to help him, after which he was fatally shot, police said.
The two suspects are still at large, and were driving a dark sedan, police said.
The victim was Moyses Arreguin, a 28-year-old father of two, KHOU reported.
Friends and neighbors lit candles Saturday afternoon on the sidewalk where Arreguin died.
