A 16-year-old murder suspect asked for prayers for his missing friend before the teen’s body was discovered in a shallow grave.

Benito Marquez, 16, and his brother Jonathon Adamson, 21, were both charged with the rape and murder of 16-year-old Benjamin Eastman on Monday.

The pair allegedly lured Ben into the woods for a camping trip before kicking him more than 100 times.

It was revealed on Thursday that Marquez asked for prayers for Ben on Facebook before the teen’s body was found.

On June 27, four days after Ben went missing, a person under Marquez’s name wrote: ‘Please if you hear anything about him or where [he’s] at notify Bj Eastman [Benjamin’s dad] and send prayers out for his family.’

It’s unclear whether or not Marquez actually wrote the post, but it, along with missing persons fliers, were shared on his Facebook account.

On Monday, Lewis County detectives said Ben was reported as a runaway or possible missing person by his family on June 27.

The teen was living with his father in Randle, Washington, where he was last seen on June 23.

Authorities said family and friends tried to locate Ben after he was supposed to meet up with a friend but never showed.

Last Thursday, deputies interviewed Ben’s friend, Marquez, who told them he had not seen the missing teen in several days.

As part of the investigation into the whereabouts of Ben, police canvassed an area in Randle where they found a shallow grave on property belonging to Marquez’s relative.
