A woman’s shocking diatribe accusing a landscaper and his mom of being ‘drug dealers, rapists and animals’ because they are ‘Mexican’ has been caught on video.
The incident occurred on Saturday in Running Springs, California, about 80 miles outside of Los Angeles.
Esteban Guzman, 27, says that he and his mother were clearing a yard when a neighbor ran outside and confronted them.
‘She was yelling at my mom go back to Mexico,’ Guzman told the Guardian.
‘I was like hey, what’s the problem? And she said we were all illegals,’ Guzman said. ‘I told her: ‘I’m a United States citizen.’ And she obviously she didn’t believe me.’
In the video shot by Guzman’s mother, which is difficult to hear at times, the woman is seen giving him the middle finger in an apparent dispute about lawn debris being spread on neighboring property.
When he asks why she hates them, she replies ‘Because you’re Mexicans’.
‘Rapists… drug dealers… animals,’ the woman says as Guzman protests that they are ‘honest people’.
‘Drug dealers, rapists and animals’ the woman repeats, before mentioning ‘the President of the United States’.
The phrasing resembles past comments by President Donald Trump, including his 2015 speech announcing his candidacy.
‘When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,’ Trump said at the time. ‘They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.’
