A black physician has shared video of the shocking moment she was called a ‘n*****’ by a white woman at an upscale Orlando, Florida resort.

Dr. Covey Banks wrote on Facebook about how she was verbally assaulted by a white family at the Omni Orlando Resort, simply for suggesting they not let their kids pee in the pool.

The incident happened around 10pm on May 26, as Banks and her family were playing in the pool.

At one point, she heard a little girl tell her mother than she wanted to use the restroom. The mom looked around and then told the girl to go in the pool, Banks said.

Banks said she then pointed the location of the restroom out to the mother, who responded by saying ‘You don’t know what MY daughter is saying’.

After that, Banks said the mother told her kids to start splashing her family.

Eventually, Banks says the mother got her kids and left the pool saying ‘come on, let’s leave these black b*****s’.

While the mom and kids left, Banks said a woman who appeared to be the family’s grandmother stayed around continuing to call them ‘black b*****s’ over and over again.

Banks even caught the grandmother calling her the n-word in one video which she uploaded to Facebook.

The video shows her talking to the grandfather, when the grandmother all of a sudden starts walking back to the pool, yelling at them.

‘Come on leave the n***** alone,’ she yells at her husband.

‘That don’t hurt me neither, sweetheart. That just show your ignorance. That name don’t bother me,’ Banks responds.

The grandmother continues to yell ‘black n*****’ into Banks’ camera.

‘Next time don’t come to Florida,’ her husband says.

Then the grandmother is seen trying to hit the camera out of Banks’ neice’s hand.

‘Don’t touch my niece!’ Banks yells, swatting the woman away.

‘That’s going to assault,’ the grandfather says threateningly.

‘Bye, you’re drunk, and so are you, get out of here,’ another person off camera says to the white couple.

Afterward, Banks says she complained to the hotel security, but they only talked to the white family to hear their side of the story.

That’s when Banks and her family decided to call police.

‘Guess who they went to first? I went over to the officer, said I’m the one who called, and that they were the ones yelling, making threats and using racial slurs. The officer said “we got 2 calls and 2 cars are being dispatched. I’ll talk to them and you can talk to the other officer when he gets here. Go stand over there and wait,”‘ she recalled.

When the other officer arrived, Banks said he asked if they wanted to press charges, but told them she would be arrested too for scratching the grandmother’s arm.

‘She screams, curses, yells racial slurs, obviously under the influence, swings at my niece but she got a scratch on her arm for being stopped and we’ll BOTH be charged?! 2/3 officers were rude and completely unprofessional,’ she said.

On top of that, she says the hotel let the white family stay another two days.

‘My niece saw them going into their room, which was in the same building and on the same floor as ours and my kids were frightened when we seen them at the pool later Sunday evening,’ Banks wrote.

Since she posted about the incident on Facebook, the hotel has issued a statement saying they don’t condone that kind of language and have personally apologized to Banks.

‘An incident occurred at our resort in Orlando last weekend. Two families staying with us got into a dispute and one family used racial slurs. The use of such language is completely unacceptable and it will not be tolerated at our hotels and resorts. We are sorry this horrible event occurred at one of our properties and I have personally apologized to Dr. Banks,’ , Omni Hotels & Resorts President Peter Strebel said.

While no one has been arrested over the incident, local police will be referring the report to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office for possible charges.

The white couple have not been identified.
