Report: LA Clippers Star Rasual Butler Had Taken a Cocktail of Meth, Weed, Painkillers and Alcohol Before Car Crash That Killed Him and His Wife

Former Los Angeles Clippers player Rasual Butler had a cocktail of various drugs and alcohol in his system when he and his wife were killed in a high-speed crash in California.

An autopsy from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office revealed that the 38-year-old had NBA star had weed, alcohol, painkillers and methamphetamine in his system when he was killed in the January 31 accident.

Toxicology tests also revealed that he had a blood alcohol level of .118, according to KTLA.

An empty box of Don Julio tequila was found inside his Range Rover, behind the passenger seat.

Butler had been driving on the 112000 block of Ventura Boulevard around 2.30am when the SUV jumped a curb and hit multiple parking meters before slamming into a concrete wall and flipping over in a parking lot.

He and wife, singer Leah LaBelle, were pronounced dead at the scene. Butler suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

The Range Rover was reported to have gone ‘well in excess’ of the speed limit. LAPD officials estimated that the SUV had been going between 60 and 90mph.

The Clippers released a statement concerning the couple’s shocking death.

‘The L.A. Clippers are deeply saddened by the loss of Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle,’ the statement said. ‘Rasual will long be remembered not only for his accomplishments on the court, but for his vibrant personality, positive outlook and the compassion he had for everyone around him.’

Butler was last in the NBA in 2016 and played for numerous teams throughout his 14 year career, including for the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs.
