Let God Be Your All in All, by Daniel Whyte III

Daniel Whyte IIIDear Daughters & YBW:

I trust that you are doing well today. I am doing fine.

As you go through this life, you will find many times that the only Person you can depend on in times of trouble is God. People who you thought were your friends will forsake you—even your family members will forsake you, but God has assured us in His Word that He will “never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). So, in this letter, I want to share with you how to let God be your main source—your all in all—in this life:

First, you must be totally dependent upon God. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Throughout my life, I have found it to be the case, that when I put God first in everything and when I totally depend on Him, He has always led me in the right path and brought me through every difficulty that I have faced.

Second, you must be fully committed to God. The Bible says in Romans 12:1: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” You must make up your mind to be totally committed to God, no matter what. When God sees that you have given your all in all, He has a way of bestowing upon you all kinds of blessing and favor. This is why I believe the Bible said, “David was a man after God’s own heart.” Even though David was not perfect, he was totally committed to God. Be committed to the Lord throughout your life and be a woman after God’s own heart, and you will be blessed in a similar way.

Third, you must completely surrender your will to God’s will. Your daily prayer should be the same as Jesus’ when He was in the garden of Gethsemane, “Not my will, but thine be done” (Luke 22:42). When you are completely sold-out to God’s will for your life, then you begin to make God your all in all.
Daughters and YBW, may I lovingly encourage you to let God be everything to you. Depend on Him, be committed to Him, surrender your will to His, and be the joyful, powerful, Christian woman that He wants you to be.

With God as My All in All,
