Morgan Freeman has released a brief statement of apology in response to multiple allegations of harassment and inappropriate behavior that were revealed Thursday morning.

According to CNN, the allegations range from unwanted touching to inappropriate verbal remarks. Lori McCreary, the co-founder of Freeman’s film company, reportedly witnessed one of the incidents.

In response, Freeman stated: “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”

The 80-year-old actor was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award in January. He has been keeping busy of late, working on Angel Has Fallen (the next installment of Olympus Has Fallen) and Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, set to release this November.
