Waitress in Washington State Receives $3,000 Tip from Anonymous Customer

A waitress in Napavine, Washington, received a generous $3,000 tip from an anonymous customer who was grateful for her cheerful disposition.

Michelle Bozeman, a waitress at Rib Eye Restaurant and a grandmother of seven who has worked as a server in South Seattle for 20 years, was surprised when she found that a couple she served Sunday night left her such a big tip for their $44 dinner bill.

Bozeman told KING-TV, “It just restored my faith in humanity, that’s for sure.”

Bozeman explained that as a single mother of three, getting paid tips has always been helpful, but she has never received a tip this big during all of years working.

“I was shocked, and I looked at it and I thought ‘no, that can’t be right,’ and then I showed my manager, then we flipped it over and read the note and went, ‘oh,'” she said.

The note said, “Thanks for smiling. You work hard and the country is in a bad place. Please do something good for another human being. Enjoy. Have credit card company call if they question the tip.”

The tip was approved and Bozeman shared the gift with her co-workers. She also said she would like to buy something for her grandchildren and take a trip to Ireland herself. She also wants to thank whoever left the tip that night.

“I just really want to thank them and say what a wonderful thing that was for them to do for a stranger,” she said.
