Angenette Marie Welk, 44, of Ocala, Fla., drove her 2011 Chevrolet Avalon into a Hyundai Elantra in front of her, forcing the sedan into the rear of a tractor-trailer on May 10, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, ClickOrlando.com reported.

The Elantra’s 18-year-old driver, Shiyanna Kroll, survived the crash, while her mother, 60-year-old Sandra Clarkson, who was in the passenger seat, died days after the accident, authorities said.

“I think it was a lot of pressure on (Clarkson on) the impact and that’s what cause it all to happen to her like that,” Kroll told ClickOrlando.com.

Kroll suffered minor injuries while the truck’s driver was unharmed.

Welk was arrested for DUI, DUI with property damage and DUI with great bodily harm — charges that were later upgraded to DUI manslaughter, according to the Ocala Star Banner.

Clarkson was visiting Marion County to celebrate one of her daughter’s graduations from college.

She had turned 60 days earlier, according to the Ocala Star Banner.

Welk’s blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit when she failed a field sobriety test, records show.

Family members mourned Clarkson’s death.
