Family Statement Thanks Police & Prosecutors for Work Investigating Death of HR McMaster’s Father

A family statement is thanking police and prosecutors for their hard work after charges were filed in the death of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser’s father at a Philadelphia senior care facility.

Thirty-year-old Christann Shyvin Gainey was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter, neglect and records tampering in the death of H.R. McMaster Sr.

McMaster died April 13, about eight hours after falling and hitting his head at the Cathedral Village retirement community.

His daughter, Letitia McMaster, says her father was a tough and compassionate soldier and public servant.

She says the best way to honor his memory is for people to “help prevent others from suffering at the hands of those who lack compassion” and abandon “even the most basic standards of human decency.”

The staffing agency where Gainey was employed had no comment Thursday. Phone numbers listed under Gainey’s name rang unanswered Thursday.
