Police Release Names of Victims Killed in Nashville Waffle House Shooting

Nashville police have released the names four people who were shot and killed Sunday morning after a gunman opened fire on a Waffle House in Antioch

Those killed in the attack Sunday include a restaurant employee and three restaurant patrons, according to a police news release.

The names of the victims are:

  • Taurean C. Sanderlin, 29, of Goodlettsville. Sanderlin was an employee of the Waffle House. He was fatally wounded standing outside the restaurant.
  • Joe R. Perez, 20, of Nashville. Perez, a patron, was fatally wounded standing outside the restaurant.
  • Akilah Dasilva, 23, of Antioch. Dasilva was wounded at the restaurant and died at Vanderbilt University Medial Center.
  • DeEbony Groves, 21 of Gallatin. Friends say Groves was a brilliant young woman, a hard worker and a tenacious basketball player.

Two other people were shot and are undergoing treatment at Vanderbilt. They are Shanita Waggoner, 21, of Nashville and Sharita Henderson, 24, of Antioch.

As of Sunday night, one patient remained in critical condition at Vanderbilt and another was listed as stable.
