An Alabama man charged with “attempting to provide services and personnel” to ISIS pleaded guilty on Thursday. Aziz Ihab Sayyed, of Huntsville, admitted to buying bomb-making ingredients in 2017 in hopes of launching ISIS-style attacks on police stations and the Redstone Arsenal, a U.S. Army post. He also admitted to attempting to create an ISIS cell that would commit terror attacks on U.S. soil. Sayyed, 23, obtained ISIS videos from January to July of 2017, and researched how to make an explosive material that could be used for an “explosive belt and/or a car bomb.” Sayyed, a U.S. citizen, offered his services to an undercover FBI agent who he thought was a member of ISIS. His plea deal “stipulates a 15-year prison sentence.”
