Putin Tells Megyn Kelly Russia Won’t Act Against U.S. Election Meddlers if They Didn’t Violate ‘Russian Laws’; Calls Accusations ‘Yelling and Screaming by Congress’

NBC Nightly News released another excerpt from Megyn Kelly‘s interview with Vladimir Putin, this part focused on election meddling.

Apparently responding to the recent indictments of Russians, Putin said, “We cannot respond to that if they do not violate Russian laws.”

Kelly walked through the allegations, noting there was “hacking into the Democratic National Committee, creating interference in our election by creating bots that spread false information on Twitter, on Facebook, spreading misinformation when it comes to Black Lives Matter, when it comes to our presidential election.”

“With all due respect for you personally,” Putin responded, “with all due respect for Congress, you must have people with legal degrees… If you don’t have a legal degree, I can explain to you.”

Kelly said, “I do.”

Putin said this should be going through “official channels” and “not through the press or yelling and hollering in the United States Congress” — before reiterating his demand for “an official request” to accuse his country of meddling.

“You said that the last time and now I’m back with an indictment,” Kelly shot back.
