A U.S. Park Police office is in stable condition Wednesday morning after being shot in the leg while serving a search warrant in Washington, D.C.
The Park Police said the officer was taken to a local hospital, where he’s currently being treated.
“A USPP Officer has been shot in the lower extremity during a search warrant in Northwest DC,” police stated in a tweet. “He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. No active threat to the community and the scene is secure.”
More details on the incident were not immediately available. Further information is expected to be released later on Wednesday.
