In January, PBS announced an episode of Great Performances featuring Nas, who took the stage at the Kennedy Center four years ago and performed his classic album Illmatic while backed by the National Symphony Orchestra. It aired on PBS stations on February 2, and as Consequence of Sound points out, the entire episode is now streaming online. New interviews with Nas and the orchestra are interspersed between the performances, plus a generous serving of grainy throwback footage from Nas’s beginnings in Queens.
