Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and his girlfriend Maddie Oberg now both have rings now.
The injured football star popped the question to Oberg after the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Wentz announced his engagement on Tuesday with a sweet Instagram photo of him down on one knee.
‘She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring. Can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough,’ the 25-year-old athlete wrote.
In a second photo, Oberg proudly shows off her diamond ring as Wentz wraps his arm around her. A third picture shows the newly engaged couple embracing each other in a hug.
Wentz proposed on a beautiful rooftop, but didn’t reveal the location.
The couple started dating last year following Wentz’s split from his high school sweetheart Melissa Ulrich.
The Eagles player made his relationship with Oberg, a former intern with Madison of Hope: Haiti, ‘Instagram official’ in November when he shared a group photo of several of his teammates celebrating Thanksgiving with their wives and girlfriends.
In December, Wentz wrote how ‘blessed’ he was to have Oberg in his life.
‘Surgery (check). The comeback officially begins now! The Lord truly blessed me with this beautiful young lady to walk by my side and support me through all of this,’ he captioned a photo of him recovering from surgery with Oberg by his side in the hospital room.
Wentz has been sidelined since December 10 when he tore his ACL in a game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The couple has yet to announce a wedding date.
