A man believed to be in his 50s was found dead in front of a church on the Detroit’s east side in the early hours of 2018, and police believe he may have frozen to death.
The man’s body was found about 6 a.m. Monday in front of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, on the 2700 block of McDougall, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman. That’s south of Charlevoix and east of Joseph Campau.
Police arrived to find the man, a black male, unresponsive. Medics responded but the man was declared dead at the scene.
An official cause of death will be determined by the Wayne County Medical Examiner.
