Comedia Micah White to Head African American Chamber in Virginia

Micah E. White was recently appointed executive director of the Central Virginia African American Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to his appointment by the chamber board of directors, White operated RVA Has Talent, which showcases local aspiring entertainers.

White, 42, studied business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is pursuing a master’s degree in theology at Virginia Union University.

Also a stand-up comedian, White performs under the name Micah “Bam-Bamm” White.

“Job creation, entrepreneurship training, and foundational support are critical to ensuring the success of any business, but particularly black business,” White said in a statement released Monday.

“I’m looking forward to the chamber better serving our membership base while also having a quantifiable impact on our youth and young entrepreneurs.”

Established in 2013, the nonprofit trade organization focuses on increasing entrepreneurship in African-American communities. Based in Henrico County, it has 169 members.
