Florida A&M University’s Marching 100 has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
“Our students continue to be recognized for excellence, hard work and their dedication to being the best in musicianship, performance and academics,” band director Shelby Chipman said. “We look forward to this exciting opportunity and putting on an unforgettable show.”
The New Year’s Day celebration broadcasts in 217 countries to over 65 million people worldwide, according to the Tournament of Roses Association. About 700,000 spectators line the 5 ½-mile route.
The band will be appearing as the event marks its 130th anniversary as America’s “New Year’s Day” celebration.
