Former Sex Slave Reveals Injuries Received at Hands of Bulgarian Traffickers

Photos have been released showing the horrific injuries a sex trafficking victim was forced to endure.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Bulgaria, is covered in bruises and scars, and suffers from a swollen lip.

She was forced to walk the streets soliciting men in The Hague, the Netherlands, after which she would routinely be brutally beaten by her captors.

After her rescue, Austrian charity boss Norbert Ceipek took photos of the young woman in order to raise awareness of the torture trafficking victims are subjected to.

As well as black eyes and swollen lips, the unnamed woman suffers from a large head trauma, and open wounds on her hands. She also has a huge scar on her abdomen, which stretches from below her belly button all the way up to her ribs.

Ceipek opened an NGO for trafficking victims in Bulgaria after retiring as the director of Drehscheibe, a well known anti-trafficking charity in Vienna.

‘A young woman, 20, got to know a young man who promises her all his love and takes her to the Netherlands,’ he said.

‘When she arrives, she realises that she has to walk the streets with another Bulgarian and two Nigerians. She does not want to, but by beating and other compulsive measures she complies and prostitutes herself for eight months.
