Former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez was found to have had severe chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neurological condition connected to repeated head trauma as a result of playing football. Hernandez, 27, committed suicide in April, and was found dead in his jail cell. The convict’s lawyer, Jose Baez, said on Thursday that Hernandez had “the most severe case they had ever seen in someone of [his] age.”
