Benham Brothers Say Hurricanes Are God’s Message for America to Restore Boundaries on Gender & Sexuality

Jason and David Benham, two pro-life activists and conservative Christian brothers from North Carolina, have suggested that the hurricanes striking the United States are a message from God to the people to put back up the boundaries on gender and sexuality.

The brothers said in a joint Facebook video on Monday, the 16thanniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on the U.S., that they would not have believed it back then if someone had told them all the changes that would be taking place in the nation in 2017.

The Benhams, whose house-flipping HGTV show was canceled in 2014 after critics spoke out against their views on same-sex marriage and abortion, said that America talked a lot about rebuilding back in 2001, but one word that wasn’t heard was “repent.”

They suggested that it would not have been believed if “as a nation you would have told us back then, in 2001, that in 2017 we would be completely redefining what gender means, what marriage means, what sexuality means; that people wouldn’t be standing for the anthem; that there would be riots and protests on the streets, and white supremacists with torches in their hands, and Antifa bullying and beating people into comas.”

The brothers talked about Hurricane Irma hitting Florida over the weekend, and said that there is a “message from God” that can be found in Psalm 104 in the Bible, which states in part that God makes the wind His messenger.

“God is speaking through the wind,” the brothers argued.

“The most dangerous thing is the storm surge, which is when the water breach the boundaries,” they said about hurricanes.

Linking the storm surges to the moral and spiritual state of America, the Benhams suggested that God sets boundaries for people so they can flourish.

“And when we say for gender ‘there is no boundary,’ when we say [for] sexuality ‘there is no boundary,’ when we say that marriage is ‘whatever you want it to be,’ we are breaching the boundaries of God,” they added.

The brothers warned that if people remove God’s boundaries, then “His blessings are replaced by burdens. It’s time to restore the boundaries.”
