March for Marriage Participants Prepare for June 17 Event in Washington D.C.

The annual March for Marriage is scheduled to take place in a couple weeks in Washington D.C., according to The Christian Post.

Organizers of the event are especially encouraged in their cause this year by America’s Republican political leadership–many of whom are more sympathetic to conservative views of marriage.

“We have potentially better allies in Washington, compared with the antipathy shown toward religious freedom and traditional values by the former [Obama] administration,” said Joseph Grabowski, a spokesman for the National Organization for Marriage.

“Trump, as a candidate and since taking office, has made repeated promises to people of faith to protect their interests and values — one of the major reasons that Christians and other faith constituencies turned out in large majorities to support his election,” Grabowski added.
