Kanye West has deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts, leaving his millions of followers speculating over the reason.
The rapper superstar, who had some 27 million followers on Twitter and was ranked in the top 50 on the site for most-followed accounts, has not given an explanation for his sudden departure.
Nor did his wife, Kim Kardashian, comment on his behaviour as she publicised a children’s clothing line which she said West had helped design.
“Tell him to get back on Twitter,” one user replied, while another said: “Tell him we miss him.”
West has had a turbulent few months since his wife was tied up and robbed at gunpoint in an exclusive hotel in Paris in October.
The following month, he was admitted to hospital with a reported temporary psychosis, caused by sleep deprivation and dehydration, and cancelled the remainder of his tour following a week of no-shows and curtailed concerts.
