First, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to the Associated Press, last week, U.S. forces in Afghanistan struck an Islamic State tunnel complex in eastern Afghanistan with “the mother of all bombs,” the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat by the U.S. military. The bomb, known officially as a massive ordnance air blast weapon, unleashed 11 tons of explosives. The number of militants killed in the attack has risen to 94. There are no reports of civilian casualties.

Second, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to the Associated Press, Russia, Syria and Iran have strongly warned the United States against launching new strikes on Syria and called for an international probe into last week’s chemical attack there. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who hosted his Iranian and Syrian counterparts at a trilateral meeting in Moscow, denounced the U.S. attack on Syria as a “flagrant violation” of international law and warned that any further such action would entail “grave consequences not only for regional but global security.” Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem said the meeting sent a “strong message” to Washington. Iran’s foreign minister emphasized that the participants warned that any unilateral action by the U.S. is unacceptable.

Third, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to Reuters, North Korea’s military said on Friday that it would “ruthlessly ravage” the United States if Washington chose to attack, as a U.S. aircraft carrier group headed for the region. The official news agency quoted the North Korean military saying, “Our toughest counteraction against the U.S. and its vassal forces will be taken in such a merciless manner as not to allow the aggressors to survive.”

Fourth, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to The Telegraph, the director of the CIA has warned that rogue states such as Iran face tougher military action from America under Donald Trump as he said the US is “closer now than we have ever been” to the threat of nuclear missiles from North Korea.
Mike Pompeo urged Iran to “take note” that Donald Trump’s missile strikes against the Syrian military were a sign the White House was “prepared to engage in activities that are different from what America has been doing these past few years”. His comments came as China warned that military conflict over North Korea’s nuclear weapon’s programme could break out “at any moment” as a stand off with the US approached breaking point.

Fifth, today, under the Sign category of INCREASED PERSECUTION — According to International Christian Concern, Pakistan’s security forces on Saturday claimed said they foiled a “major terror attack” on minority Christians ahead of Easter after they killed a militant and arrested his two aides. The military said terrorists were planning to launch a major terrorist attack during Easter celebrations in Lahore. Two suicide jackets, weapons, and explosives have been recovered from the terrorists’ location.

The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Jeremiah 30:16-17 which reads: “Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

Allow me to share with you some commentary on this passage from the Popular Bible Prophecy Commentary, edited by Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson.

The One who has wounded Zion intends to heal Zion. He will do so in two stages. In the first stage, God intends to punish the nations who inflicted the wound upon Zion. He promises that “all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity?’ Those who have despoiled Israel will become a spoil themselves, and all who prey upon Israel will be given for a prey. This is the principle of Genesis 12:3: “The one who curses you I will curse.” In the second stage, God says, “I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds.” The reason He will do this is because Israel’s enemies “have called [Israel] an outcast”; they have called Zion a city that no man seeks. God will punish Israel’s armies, and He will heal Israel by forgiving her of her sins.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at the prophetic passages of the Bible in our next broadcast / podcast.

Our second coming quote for today is from J.C. Ryle. He said, “The world will not be converted when Christ returns. It will be found in the same condition that it was in the day of the flood. When the flood came, men were found ‘eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage,’ absorbed in their worldly pursuits, and utterly regardless of Noah’s repeated warnings. They saw no likelihood of a flood. They would not believe there was any danger. But at last the flood came suddenly and ‘took them all away.’ All that were not with Noah in the ark were drowned. They were all swept away to their last account, unpardoned, unconverted, and unprepared to meet God. And our Lord says, ‘so will be the coming of the Son of Man.’”

If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
