An Interview with Angela M. Evans, President and CEO of Crenshaw Christian Center.

Angela M. Evans

What is your name and what is your ministry?

Angela M. Evans, president and CEO of Crenshaw Christian Center.

How long have you been in this ministry and how did you get started in it?

I’ve just celebrated 42 years with the ministry. My service began while I was taking courses in secretarial science at West Los Angeles College with plans to transfer to a four-year university to major in business administration. In the midst of that, “my dad,” who was the pastor of Crenshaw Christian Center, presented an employment opportunity for me to be the church secretary, and of course I said, “Yes,” and the rest is history.

What role has God or your faith played in your ministry?

Everything. And everything. I couldn’t have done it without my faith in God. It’s been quite a journey, and most rewarding and gratifying. I believe that God has led me each step of the way, and I leaned heavily on my faith and prayer to guide me to success.

What is one of the most memorable moments or experiences during your ministry?

There are so many. However, and this may be odd to some, yet it was the day that my father, who I worked for, finally displayed confidence in me by asking my opinion as to what he should do about a matter. In that moment, I felt I had arrived. I became his chief, most trusted advisor. This was major for me.
