Our Ordained Chaplains Scripture verse for today is Ezekiel 34:16 which reads, “I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up [that which was] broken, and will strengthen that which was sick…”
Our Ordained Chaplains quote for today is from B.B. Warfield. He said, “Our self-abnegation is thus not for our own sake but for the sake of others. And thus it is not to mere self-denial that Christ calls us but specifically to self-sacrifice, not to unselfing ourselves but to unselfishing ourselves.”
In this podcast, we will continue discussing the book “Out of the Depths” by Anton T. Boisen. We continue today with “Halfway Long Pants” (Part 4):
I was a regular attendant at the Presbyterian church, to which our family belonged. Attendance at this church was made easier by the fact that most of our “crowd” also belonged there. Dr. George N. Luccock was at that time the pastor, and President John Merle Coulter of the University and his family were regular attendants. During my second year in high school the evangelist, Wilbur Chapman, held a series of meetings in Bloomington, and along with four or five others of our group I joined the church.
