Apple Introduces Red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus to Help Fight HIV/AIDS

Prepare to start seeing red—and a lot of it—because Apple just introduced its first ever red iPhone.

Apple announced today that, to celebrate 10 years of partnership with (RED)—the global organization dedicated to fighting HIV and AIDS—it was releasing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition. This latest iteration of iPhones is much bolder than any of its siblings (matte black, jet black, silver, gold, and rose gold): It features a vibrant, fiery red aluminum finish, contrasted against a bright white face and a silver Apple logo. But it doesn’t just look good, it also serves a good cause: Any purchase of the (PRODUCT)RED iPhones will help benefit (RED)’s Global Fund, which helps to provide HIV and AIDS testing, counseling, treatment, and prevention programs. To date the Global Fund has raised $465 million—and $130 million from Apple alone.
