Live Deer Set on Fire in Indiana

Authorities in Indiana are investigating after a deer was found alive and on fire on the side of the road last week.

Police were called to the intersection of near Rochester in Fulton County early on the morning of Feb. 16, where the deer was found on fire by a passer-by, according to a news release.

Investigators said the deer was struck by a vehicle believed to be a blue or black 1992-2002 Camaro, Trans-Am, Firebird or similar car, based on parts found at the scene.

Police say the deer was still alive when someone poured accelerant over the deer and set it on fire.

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department euthanized the deer after they found it smoldering at the scene.
