69-Year-Old Mississippi Woman Goes to Dixon Baptist Church to Clean, Husband Finds Her Dead Inside Church Office

A 69-year-old woman was found shot to death Thursday in a Neshoba County church, authorities said.
Brenda Strickland Pinter was found by her husband in Dixon Baptist Church on Highway 21 south about 6 p.m., Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell told the Clarion-Ledger.

Pinter had gone to the church, of which she was a member, to clean, her husband, Robert Wayne Pinter said. Brenda Pinter was speaking on the phone with a relative and said, “Somebody has come up,” and then nothing else, according to her husband.

Robert Wayne Pinter said that when he couldn’t reach his wife and she hadn’t returned home, he went to the church and found her lying on her back in the office, dead.

Waddell said a gun was not found at the scene.

Robert Wayne Pinter said he can’t imagine why someone would have wanted to harm his wife.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been called to assist, the newspaper reported.
