The body of Clemson associate athletic director Bert Henderson was found Tuesday, a day after he was reported missing.
Henderson, 60, did not attend work Monday and was reported missing later in the day. His body was found near his Easley, S.C., home, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
“The family has been notified and the death investigation has been turned over sheriff’s office detectives,” the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page.
No further details were made available.
Messages left with the Anderson County Sheriff and Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore by USA TODAY Sports were not immediately returned.
Henderson’s tenure at Clemson began in 1978 as an athletic trainer, the same year he graduated from Mars Hill College. He served as an instructor at Clemson for a 12 years and held various roles within the athletic department over the years.
