Some congratulations are in order for Tony Romo.
The Cowboys quarterback and his wife, Candice Romo, are expecting their third child this August. Candice announced her pregnancy on KTCK 96.7 FM The Ticket on Tuesday.
The news is likely a welcome distraction for Romo, who could be on the move this offseason. The Cowboys exploded under rookie quarterback Dak Prescott last season, leaving the 36-year-old Romo stuck in the backup position.
At this point, it’s unclear if the Cowboys want to keep Romo around as an extremely expensive backup, attempt to trade him, or release him.
“We don’t know anything,” Candice Romo said. “We know just as much as you guys, and for a type-A planner personality, it doesn’t bode well. And I’m sure when we do [know something], Tony will be the guy to tell you.”
