Dr. Bobby Mills says the 2016 presidential election “flipped American society upside-down and inside-out spiritually and morally.” In a new collection of essays written during the campaign season and published together for the first time, Mills provides analysis and perspective on how the election outcome could affect minorities and provides recommendations on what the church should do under the new president’s administration.
In his book, American Society: Upside Down: Essays on the 2016 Presidential Election, Mills says, “the world community witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly side of America’s historic struggle to live up to the true spiritual meaning of the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution.” He adds that, “American society is experiencing a socio-spiritual breakdown of moral order.”
Throughout the collection of over thirty essays, he touches on hot-button issues including: race, Donald Trump’s election campaign, middle class voting trends, declining morality in America, the welfare system, and the leadership of the church in the present social climate.
