“This is when you get $100 million dollar contract and then you lose your mind.”
One week after being suspended one single play for not wearing a tie, Cam Newton dressed like a hipster cowboy sociology professor after his Carolina Panthers beat the San Diego Chargers 28-16.

This prompted CBS to write the ever-so-subtle headline “LOOK: Cam Newton’s postgame attire is promptly mocked on Twitter.” Fox went with, “Cam Newton wears an outrageous outfit a week after ‘tiegate.’ ”
Of course it’s only outrageous if you discard pretty much every other time Newton has appeared in public recently. The dude dresses like this — this being however he wants, with no unifying theme beyond his own silly whim.
Most of us don’t. We wear hoodies with fraying sleeves or that shirt we found on the discount rack at Gap or whatever happens to be clean. We do this because we’re not paid $19.5 million a year. Nor do we have endorsements. Or companies probably sending us free stuff in the hopes we will wear it and convince our fawning admirers to pay for the right to do the same.
