Hillsong music has become a standard in worship music. Their songs have reached beyond the borders of Australia to countless churches across the globe. On Sept. 16, the much awaited movie “Hillsong – Let Hope Rise” hits U.S. theaters nationwide.
In a report by Assist News Service, chief production officer of film outfit Pure Flix Michael Scott said, “‘Hillsong – Let Hope Rise’ is so much more than a film about a Christian band or even a church. It is truly a theatrical worship experience.”
Pure Flix’s founding partner added, “It is a dream come true for us, as a studio committed to influencing the global culture, to partner with a church like Hillsong.”
The movie’s producer, Jonathan Bock, has only good words to share regarding the Christian worship band. He said that Hillsong has become so influential that people who attend church regularly know Hillsong’s music by heart.
Hillsong’s songs are reportedly sung every Sunday by an estimated 50 million people across the globe. The band has sold over 17 million albums and their songs have been translated in 60 languages.
Bock pointed out that through the fame, the worship band remains grounded, only seeking to glorify God in their music just like what countless worship bands do the every week. He aired his surprise and fascination by how the worship band keeps everything in balance.
