Heavy rainfall throughout the night in south-central Kansas led to flash flooding and many school closures today.
In Wichita, up to 10 inches of rain fell overnight, and flash flooding has continued throughout this morning. In addition, thousands of people in the area are without power because of gusty winds.
Flash flood watches and warnings were issued for Kansas and Missouri this morning, as more rain is forecast for the area today.
