Seventh Day Adventist Leaders Told Ben Carson Not to Run for President, Urged him Not to Get Involved in Politics Besides Voting and Speaking Out Against That Which is Evil

A source who is an insider in the Seventh Day Adventist Church told BCNN1 that ‘prophetic leadership’ within the church told Ben Carson not to run for president.

He disobeyed, and his entire presidential run was a disaster. The source said that almost every time Carson opened his mouth it was an embarrassment.

A report in The Daily Beast stated that there was “trepidation among many of the church’s thought leaders about their association with a candidate for political office.” Some viewed “his controversy-prone bid for the White House as a lose-lose for the church’s public image.”

David Trim, the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s archivist, said leaders were worried that Carson would have to “compromise his principles” to get elected, “and then the church wouldn’t be happy with that.”

On May 4, 2015, The Seventh-day Adventist Church’s North American Division released a statement saying that they would not support or promote Carson for president.

Carson dropped out of the race on March 4, 2016.
