The man suspected of killing a police officer in central Georgia was arrested in Florida following a manhunt, authorities said.

Royheem Delshawn Deeds, 24, was booked in jail after 2 a.m. Monday, inmate records show.

He’s being held at the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center, about 150 miles southeast of Eastman, Ga., where Patrol Officer Tim Smith was shot dead while responding to a suspicious person call.

Authorities say Smith, 30, was shot after exiting his patrol car.
