Atlanta-based entertainer Tyler Perry is offering to help pay the funeral costs of two infant girls who died last Thursday in a hot car in west Georgia.

Perry said he made the decision after watching an interview with the girls’ mother, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Carrollton, GA police say they believe the girls’ father Asa North, 24, left them unattended in a vehicle for a certain amount of time.

“The neighbors heard some screaming – I guess coming from the father – and saw him running around back with the two children,” Capt. Chris Dobbs of the Carrollton Police Department told our affiliate WGCL.

The twins later died at the hospital.

North was taken into custody on Friday, Aug. 5 and charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
