The Burlington Revival has come to an end after going strong for 11 weeks. Friday night was the last night the revival services were held in Burlington, North Carolina.
The owner needed his tent back for another meeting, and services will not continue at another location, one leader told CBN News.
“There were no other opportunities for us to do that. So for now, the Burlington Revival has ended,” D.R. Harrison wrote in a text.
A mighty move of God took place during the revival. Thousands attended services held daily. Harrison said more than 1,250 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The revival started as a week-long event back on Mother’s Day at New Hope Baptist Church and eventually moved to a huge tent near Interstates 40 and 85.
“What a joy; what an honor, and what a privilege to see God working in this day,” lead evangelist C.T. Townsend said in a video on the Burlington Revival Facebook page. “I’ve never seen anything like it, and this meeting has changed my life.”
“It has changed everything about me,” he continued. “And I am so thankful and honored for what God has done and what God is doing — not just here in Burlington, but the aftershock that has literally shook across this nation.”
Although the services have ended, Townsend said the work is not over.
