1 San Diego Police Officer Dies at Hospital, Another One in Surgery; One Suspect Arrested, Another One on the Run





Two police officers were wounded in a shooting in a San Diego neighborhood Thursday night and a suspect was in custody.

Police said the officers were taken to the hospital, but their condition was unknown.



There was no immediate word on the circumstance surrounding the violence, which occurred around 11 p.m. local time in an area known as Southcrest.

Police said on Twitter that a suspect was in custody. But the suspect’s identity was immediately released.

The shooting comes with law officers around the country on alert following the killing of officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this month.
