LeBron James has informed the Cleveland Cavaliers he will re-sign with the team, reports ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Although James is the last high-profile free agent to commit to a new contract, his staying put comes as no surprise, especially following the Cavs’ Finals win.
According to Windhorst, James is in “no rush” to actually sign his deal, and is mulling several options. He could choose to sign a one-year deal, like he has done the past two seasons, or sign a multi-year contract.
With a commitment from James, the Cavaliers now have two unsigned members of last year’s championship team: shooting guard J.R. Smith and coach Tyronn Lue.
