This podcast is designed to explain what it means to be saved from sin and from the punishment of sin through Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Hebrews 3:14: “For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;”
Today’s God’s Great Salvation quote is from John Bunyan. He said: “Christ is the desire of nations, the joy of angels, the delight of the Father. What solace then must that soul be filled with, that has the possession of Him to all eternity!”
Our topic today is Definition of Key Terms (Part 1) from the book, “So Great Salvation: What it Means to Believe in Jesus Christ” by Dr. Charles Ryrie.
Christians sometimes use words and phrases that are foreign to those who are not saved. As we near the end of the Understanding God’s Great Salvation podcast, we are going to look at what some of these words and phrases mean. If you are a new believer or thinking about becoming a believer, this will be very beneficial to you.
Abiding in Christ. To live in harmony with the Lord by keeping His commandments.
Adoption. To be placed in God’s family as an adult with all privileges of that position.
Assurance of salvation. The realization or confidence that through faith in Christ one truly possesses eternal life.
Believe. To hold something as true.
Carnal. To have the characteristics of an unsaved life either because one is an unbeliever or because, though a believer, one is living like an unsaved person.
