LISTEN: Jesus the Triumphant, Part 11 (Just Jesus Evangelistic Campaign, Day 187 with Daniel Whyte III)

TEXT: John 12:27-33

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

———-

Today, I am continuing the daily Just Jesus Evangelistic Campaign sermon series, which is aimed at sharing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with unbelievers and reminding Christians, in this important election year, to keep the main thing the main thing — and that is reaching unbelievers with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and praying for their salvation, for the problem in America is not only disobedient presidents, politicians, and people, but disobedient pastors, preachers, and parishioners who have refused to obey the Lord’s Great Commission which is to, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” and who have refused to obey God’s repeated commands to “pray without ceasing” for unbelievers, believers, and political leaders. Yes, you should pray for the right candidate to win; yes, you should vote for the candidate that the Lord gives you peace about voting for. But, don’t get caught up in it like the world does. Nothing much is going to change until people get saved and get their hearts right with the Lord.

This campaign is inspired by the following three verses: 1 Corinthians 2:2 which says, “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” Acts 5:42 which says, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” And 2 Timothy 2:4 which says, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

This series is not for Christians necessarily. However, I do hope you are one of those saints who still loves to hear the “Old, old story of Jesus and His love” — As another hymn says, “For those who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.” This series is primarily for unbelievers, so they can hear and understand the Gospel and be saved from sin and the punishment of sin which is hell. This is message number 187.

Alexander MacLaren said, “The Cross is the magnet of Christianity. Jesus Christ draws men, but it is by His Cross mainly… As all history shows, you demagnetize Christianity if you strike out the death on the Cross for a world’s sin. What is left is not a magnet, but a bit of scrap iron.”

It may seem forever strange to us, but God planned to bring life into the world by death. And not just any death, but the death of His own Son, sacrificed on a crude cross, the most cruel form of torture and execution invented by humans up until that point in history.

The whole idea the Romans had behind individuals being crucified and hung up on crosses for days at a time, their bodies rotting in the sun, was that it would serve as a deterrent to others who would walk in the path of criminals and insurrectionists. The message was, ‘Don’t be like this man.’

But Jesus, who spoke in the Temple of the manner of his death, said, “I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” Jesus embraced the cross because He knew that God was using it to get an even more important message out to the world. The term ‘lifted up’ has two meanings. It, of course, means to be elevated physically, but it also means to be glorified in the sight of others.

By accepting His crucifixion, Jesus entirely changed the nature of it. The cross became a throne; the crown of thorns became a crown of glory; the whip lashes across His back became stripes by which we are healed. Today, we do not look on the cross in disgust and repulsion, but we celebrate what it symbolizes. Think about it for a minute: in every church, in many homes, hanging on chains around people’s necks or printed on a multitude of t-shirts is a miniature replica of an instrument of torture and execution.

Jesus took something that was meant to be evil and cruel, and has drawn all men to Himself because of it. People of every nation, race, language, and ethnicity believe on Jesus. People of every social status, financial status, and education level have come to Him for salvation. The cross has proved no barrier in reaching those who need the grace of God. Instead, it is a thing of beauty that one so innocent would willingly lay down His life for many so undeniably guilty. That is what we think of when we, as the hymn says, survey the wondrous cross.

When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were a present far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.

On the cross, Jesus gave His life, His all for you. Will you give Him your soul, your life, your all today?

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and I want to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! LISTEN: The Foundations of All Spiritual Blessings, Part 11 (Revive the Family, Revive the Church, Awaken the Nation, O Lord #152 with Daniel Whyte III)

A series of homilies on Ephesians

A homily is “a short talk on a religious or moral topic; a usually short sermon; a lecture or discourse on or of a biblical theme.”

Daniel Whyte III
Daniel Whyte III

I am sharing a verse-by-verse series of short messages on Ephesians (as well as other passages of Scripture) specifically targeted at reviving families and encouraging and exhorting husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, and children to do what God has commanded them to do, for if the church is to be revived and the country is to be awakened, the family must be revived first.

TEXT: Ephesians 1:7-14:

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of time he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

—-

Sadhu Sundar Singh said, “To harmonize the thoughts and imaginations of men the presence of the stimulating breath of the Holy Spirit is necessary. When that is present there will be produced heavenly airs and joyous harmonies in men’s hearts, both in this life and in heaven.”

Leonard Ravenhill said, “I tremble at the awesomeness of preaching God’s Word. Sometimes I hear preachers read the Bible as if it were a weather report.”

In their book, The Ten Greatest Revivals Ever, Elmer Towns and Douglas Porter share with us: “Fasting with prayer is widely practiced in Korea. More than 5,000 “prayer mountains” have been established—mountain retreats where Christians go for days or weeks of prayer. The prayer life of the Korean church remains a role model for Christians around the world. No wonder that.by the year 2000, a third of the Korean population had become members of a Christian church.”

—-

On last night, we left off talking about how we, as believers, are sealed by the Holy Spirit once we believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Prior to that, we talked about the inheritance that believers have in Christ. Today, we see how those two things come together. Paul writes, “Ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

If you have ever wondered about receiving your inheritance, you can rest assured that you will receive it because the seal of the Holy Spirit is your guarantee. That is what this verse is telling us. The Holy Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance. The Greek word translated “earnest” is “arrabon.” It means “money given as a pledge or down payment that the full amount will subsequently be paid.” If you are saved, you already have the Holy Spirit living inside of you. He is the guarantee of your inheritance. God would not have given you the Holy Spirit if He did not intend to give you your inheritance in Christ as well.

The Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “The Holy Spirit who seals is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance. The ‘deposit’ is more than a pledge which could be returned; it is a down payment with a guarantee of more to come. It guarantees believers’ ‘inheritance’ of salvation and heaven. In essence, the ‘deposit’ of the Holy Spirit is a little bit of heaven in believers’ lives with a guarantee of much more yet to come.”

With the Holy Spirit inside of you, you already have a little bit of your inheritance with you. You don’t have to worry about the future. God has made you a promise, and He will keep His promises. He cannot lie. He is faithful and true. You will receive all of the blessings and benefits that He has promised you.

Let’s pray.

Now, if you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, please keep in mind that the Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Just pray and ask Him to come into your heart and He will. I will be sharing more on the matter of salvation in the next segment of our service which starts in about 5 minutes.

Pope Francis’ Star Is Swiftly Falling Back In His Homeland

While flying back to the Vatican after a visit to Armenia, Pope Francis declared that Christians should apologize to LGBTs and others who’ve been “offended” or “exploited” by the church. It’s the type of radical thinking that has helped Francis — the first non-European pontiff in more than 1,200 years — achieve a level of celebrity nearly unprecedented in the history of Catholicism.
