An off-duty New York police officer fatally shot a man early Monday morning in Brooklyn after he was allegedly attacked during a road rage incident. The officer was reportedly driving his own vehicle when he was involved in an altercation with a 37-year-old man in another car. When both cars were stopped at a red light, the 37-year-old allegedly got out and started punching the officer through his open window. The officer pulled out his gun and shot the man, killing him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer was minorly injured and treated at a nearby hospital. Neither of the men involved have been identified by police.
