Ever since the death of boxing legend and civil rights activist Muhammad Ali, fans across the globe have been mourning the powerful and ionic hero. However, one person who hasn’t had such nice things to say about Ali is controversial journalist Piers Morgan, who recently slammed Ali as a racist. Now, reports have revealed that Morgan’s inflammatory words garnered some serious shade from celebrity couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
The drama all started when Morgan both tweeted about and posted a new column online in which he claimed that Ali was an extreme racist during his younger years and that he said more divisive and offensive things than controversial Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has ever said about Brown people.
“Muhammad Ali said far more inflammatory/racist things about White people than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims. #fact,” Morgan posted in one tweet, while in another he wrote, “Why would stating that Muhammad Ali made a lot of inflammatory, race-charged statements in his life be remotely controversial? He did.”
Well, Morgan’s comments didn’t sit well with Legend and the singer blasted the journalist when he joked about what people might say about him when he dies.
But Legend wasn’t alone in his thinking about Morgan. Legend’s wife, Teigen, joined in on the action and began blasting Morgan for trolling Black twitter with his inflammatory statements.
