A sneaker-obsessed Crown Heights resident named Donald Proudfoot allegedly shot a man to death over a pair of Air Jordans earlier this week — and cops say this isn’t the first time that his love for luxury kicks caused him to snap, sources said.
Authorities are on the hunt for Proudfoot who they believe shot and killed 46-year-old Sam Cosmore during a dispute involving sneakers at a barbecue at 1383 St. John’s Pl. in Brooklyn Tuesday, cops said.
The 28-year-old had already been arrested last November for beating up his girlfriend and swiping her pair of retro black and red Jordans, as well as a pair of UGGs, according to police.
In Tuesday’s incident, it was unclear who was wearing the shoes and what specifically about the shoes caused the argument.
Proudfoot allegedly fired multiple shot and Cosmore was hit in the chest. Cops later found his lifeless body lying in the street down the block from the barbecue
